When you dream to be a great and very successful blogger, you should know that this means a lot of hard work. Blogging is not only the emotion of sharing information and communicating with others but also a real mission. If you want to be a professional blog post writer, you need to develop the habits of a successful blogger. Here what they are:
1. Write a Lot
You will get convinced with time that practice really makes proficiency. The more you write the more influential your writing will become. The more posts and content you add to your blog, the more search engines will start to notice you. And users will get to know you.
Do not doubt in one thing -effective bloggers work hard. Just because you are good at writing and enjoy doing it, it does not mean that being a blogger is easy. The successful bloggers write about serious things and spend time and efforts on researching and planning what to write.
Successful bloggers understand that they will not become popular after a few posts. Real success comes with time and hard work and they are not afraid of this.
2. Pay Attention To The World Around You
You should know what is happening and write about things that people care about. Expert bloggers know the ways to grab people’s attention, to keep it, and to give the audience what they are looking for.
The best bloggers know how to format their texts in order to make them easy to read. They always divide their posts into short paragraphs. Using bullet and number points also helps the readers scan the text and find what is interesting or useful in it. The compelling and informative subheadings have the same role.
Always think about the interests of your readers. Analyze carefully what they care about and find intriguing. Think about what information people care about and would like to find and choose your topics according to this.
The successful bloggers know what types of posts get the most traffic to their blog. You need to tailor your blog content in a way that suits your audience. Be flexible and ready for changes if they are necessary.
3. Market Your Blog Content
You must find your audience and focus on providing it with quality content. Then, track your progress to see whether you have achieved the desired results. You should check out your blog analytics at least once a week to see what you have done.
Get to know your audience better. Your real readers might be a little different from what you expect. Maybe you planned that your post would be the most interesting for people between 20 and 25 and then it appeared that a lot of teenagers read them? That’s not an issue, but you should be aware of this fact. See which of your posts are most successful and what kind of people read them. Check whether there are any trends or themes in the statistics. If you find some, try to repeat the same strategy and find out whether it really works.
4. Stay Concentrated
No matter what you have achieved by now – poor or great results, remember to stay concentrated. The effective bloggers choose a topic and then stick to it. They do not lose their time on trying to cover all possible topics just because someone would want to read such a post.
Write about your chosen subject and do not distract yourself. Keep your voice and approach consistent. Even if you happen to write about something which is off-topic, try to relate it back to the niche of your main subject.
You have to be also focused on posting regularly. The effective bloggers are consistent about timing. You should stick to regular posting schedules. If you create a habit to post one text a day or two texts a week, your readers will know when to expect them.
Successful bloggers have goals and know what they want to achieve. They always have a plan and completely stick to it. Still, you should be able to adapt, based on your feedback, but do such changes carefully.
Although having no boss means that no one will tell you what to do, you should be able to control yourself. Organize your time carefully and make sure not to miss deadlines. Post regularly and later check your blog statistics to check what the results are.
You need to set a goal for your blog. You will not be satisfied with what you achieve if you actually do not try to achieve something in particular. Try writing down your goal on a sticky paper and put it on your computer screen. This could be a number of posts or visits, income and others. Then break this goal into smaller and more things but give yourself a deadline for them. This might seem a little stressing at first but it is actually quite effective.
Remember to be consistent. You will not go far if you give up easily. Consistency and hard work are the keys to success. Once you create your publishing schedule, stick to it. Even if you feel that there is nothing interesting to write about now, find something. Check what is interesting about your target group at this particular moment and then write about it. Your readers will start to look for your posts and you should not disappoint them.
Focus on the main idea that you need to provide your readers with quality and useful content. The effective bloggers quickly make the shift from talking about themselves to providing real value to their readers. They will try to find themselves in your posts or something that really concerns them. It is essential to make a personal and strong connection with your audience. Help them learn something about themselves in your content. Talk about your life lessons and experiences and make them relatable and useful for your readers.
Do not try to be everywhere and write about everything. Focus on two social networks and share your posts only there. It is much better to build a massive audience on one or two social networks rather than having few people following you in a lot of networks.
5. Treat Your Blog as a Business
If you want to make money by blogging, this is definitely a business. You should not expect just to write about what is in your head and then to expect everyone to be amazed by this. I assure you that professional blogging does not work that way. Your blog is a business and thus it needs goals to exist and grow. The main function of a business is to service its customers and as a blogger your goal is to provide them with quality information. You should always remember this if you really want to make money with your blog.
Being a blogger can be a hobby but also a profession. If you choose the second path, remember that you will have to spend a lot of time and efforts and turn your blog into business.
Try to develop the above top 5 blogging habits and you have real chances to become a successful blogger. Prepare yourself that this will take time and be patient and consistent.
Hi Jessica,
I think new bloggers should minimize their writing of posts and spend time gaining more audience else they may get discouraged if they have poor results. Staying concentrated is really the main issues that derail most bloggers.
